1.Targi Książki Kulinarnej
The New Zealand's stand was there with my book and some of the best NZ's food products to try. There was also a chance to speak on sustainable NZ's winegrowing, agriculture and aquaculture.

The courtyard of Zamek Ujazdowski is occupied by 'the Garden of Senses' where you can admire, touch and smell a variety of herbs and flowers set in boxes around deckchairs.
Being surrounded by cookbooks of all sorts, vegetarian, vegan, dietary, Italian, Japanese, Jewish, in Polish and in English, new and used it was simply irresistible! Luckily I have found something suitable for my interests and now I am preparing my first Philippine dish.

Nowa Zelandia zawitała do Ujsół
Dzień Dziecka świętowaliśmy daleko od stolicy, w Ujsołach na Żywiecczyźnie, skąd pochodzę. W przepięknie odrestaurowanej organistówce odbyło się kolejne spotkanie autorskie promujące "Kuchnię Nowej Zelandii".
Publiczność dopisała mimo burzowej pogody. Właściwie mamy typową nowozelandzką zimę tego lata....
Z wójtem gminy Ujsoły, panem Tadeuszem Piętką, zaprezentowaliśmy gościom "Kuchnię Nowej Zelandii".
Później zaznajomiliśmy mieszkańców Ujsół z dalekim krajem na Antypodach.
Nie obyło się bez tortu Pawłowej, który zrobił furorę.
Mam nadzieję na więcej takich sympatycznych spotkań!
Pierwsze spotkanie z czytelnikami
I tak pierwsze spotkanie autorskie przeszło do historii! Wydarzenie zaszczyciły swoją obecnością panie Wendy Hinton, ambasador Nowej Zelandii w Polsce, oraz Beata Stoczyńska, ambasador Polski w Nowej Zelandii. Jak zwykle chciałam powiedzieć tak dużo, tyle pięknych wspomnień i smaków cisnęło mi się na usta, że trudno mi było zmieścić się w czasie. Bardzo ucieszyła mnie liczna frekwencja i Wasze miłe słowa. Mam nadzieję, że używacie mojej książki!

Kuchnia Nowej Zelandii - spotkanie autorskie 22 maja
22 maja 2013 r. o godz. 18.00 w Galerii Azjatyckiej Muzeum Azji i Pacyfiku w Warszawie odbędzie się pierwsze spotkanie autorskie poświęcone Kuchni Nowej Zelandii.
Opowiem o moich nowozelandzkich doświadczeniach kulinarnych oraz o wyjątkowych nowozelandzkich produktach, które docierają nad Wisłę. Będzie mowa o winach, miodach, owocach
morza, jagnięcinie, owocach i olejach z awokado. Będzie okazja do spróbowania kilku potraw. Wspomnimy także polski wkład w historię kraju na Antypodach.

Już jest!
Dzisiaj raniutko prosto z drukarni na targi turystyczne na Marsa dotarł redaktor naczelny Wydawnictwa Nowy Świat, pan Kamil Witkowski z....
Czekaliśmy na ten moment parę lat, a zwłaszcza ostatnich parę miesięcy. Nie wiadomo, czego się spodziewać... Już widać główkę...
I oto jest, "Kuchnia Nowej Zelandii" po raz pierwszy publicznie prezentowana w Polsce, a jednak prawie na ziemi nowozelandzkiej!
Jako pierwsza oglądała książkę pani Wendy Hinton, Ambasador Nowej Zelandii w Polsce.
Wiele osób ostrzyło sobie zęby ma pierwszy egzemplarz, cóż, trzeba
było być rano na Marsa. Pierwszy egzemplarz powędrował do Pani Ewy i mam
nadzieję, że przyniesie jej szczęście i spełnienie marzeń o
nowozelandzkiej wyprawie życia.
Na Marsa można mnie spotkać jeszcze w sobotę i niedzielę:-)

Nie zabrakło nowozelandzkich smakołyków, w tym wina zapewnionego przez Centrum Wina, miodu z manuki, oleju z awokado, soku z kiwi i feijoa, muffinek w kształcie piłek do rugby, lamingtonów w galaretce, ciasteczek ANZAC, krakersów z pastą serową, paluszków z cheddarem i metrowego tortu Pawłowej.
Wszystkie znajdują się w książce, która będzie dostępna już za kilka dni!

Oysters
I love shellfish and since I moved to Ireland this love has grown deeper. There is a wide selection of fresh shellfish the whole year. In the north of Dublin I discovered a fishing port. This port is located on the Howth peninsula.
There are many shops with really fresh fish and shellfish. I often visit this place and do the shopping.
When I lived in Poland, I tried just a few kinds of shellfish. In Ireland I have come across more sea animals. Here for the first time I tried scallops, octopus, lobster and oysters.
Oysters now are my favourite type of shellfish. I like eating it raw. My Polish friends are disgusted by my liking but it is their problem.
I tried Irish Oysters for the first time during a trip to Galway. In Galway every year there is Oysters Festival and every restaurant and pub serves Oysters. Some restaurants prepare special menu with this shellfish as the main ingredient but Oysters are often served raw with lemon. So, for the first time I tried raw Oysters. That was a really strange experience to eat something that is still alive but I like challenges.
I laughed to my friends that I went back to the times before the discovery of fire.
The Irish love Oysters and they have many sea farms with this shellfish. In September in the whole country there are many Oysters festivals. The main one is in Galway. That is great time and Oysters are the best then.
The Irish PR invented new Irish breakfast. It is a plate with raw Oysters, lemon and a glass of Guinness, but you can see this breakfast probably only on postcards.

Australian meat pie
The Australian meat pie can be a surprisingly quick dish. Undoubtedly it can be delicious when using the right ingredients. And of course it is very very nourishing. It can be even considered to be healthy since it taste the best with tomato sauce rich in potassium…
Australian meat pie
Makes 8-10
300 g packet of puff pastry
600 pork neck or minced meat
2 onions, chopped
few sprigs of fresh thyme, chopped, or 3 tspns dried thyme
4 Tbsps oil
salt, pepper
2 Tbsps breadcrumbs
2 eggs, slightly beaten
(ok, this is this better version of pies…)
1. Mince the meat if you bought the solid piece of meat. Heat the oil and fry the onions until golden. Add minced meat, thyme, salt and pepper, according to taste. Cool down.
2 Mix in 1 slightly beaten egg and breadcrumbs.
3. Cut out 12 cm-diameter pastry circles. You will probably get about 8-10. At four edges of the each circle cut out small triangles reaching their peaks only half way down to the center. Remember not to smash nor the circles neither the leftovers. Now arrange every fan-looking circle in a muffin tin whole, stick together the edges on the walls of the mould. Fill up with the stuffing. Brush with egg and plaster with the leftover cuts of the pastry sticking together slightly.
4. With a toothpick make a few wholes in the top of every meat pie, brush with an egg and bake in 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
5. Cool down the pies for a minute, and take out of the mould. You may need to separate the pies from the mould by levering it with a thin knife around the mould. Serve hot or warm and absolutely with a nice tomato sauce!

Australian Granny Smith apples in puff pastry

Granny Smith apples in puff pastry
makes 24
300 g packet of puff pastry
2 Granny Smith Apples
2 egg whites
4 Tbsp sugar
1. Cut the puff pastry into 4x4 cm squares. Cut apples in two halves and every one of them into another 6 pieces of the quaters' shape.
2. Place the apple pieces on the squares diagonally and stick together the left corners.
3. Beat slightly the egg whites, mixing in 2 tablespoons of sugar. Brush the puff pastry and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
4. Bake in 200 degrees for 18 minutes.
